This week took a different turn...
After last week's Psalm 126 - "Restorer of Joy" message, it became apparent that we all needed a reminder of what God really thinks of us. We are his beloved. He cherishes us. He cannot stand anything that tells us otherwise. So...we went back to the 3rd chapter of Genesis to remind us that God loves us so much that He will go a little "Papa Bear" on our behalf.
We are challenged to NEVER DOUBT that He knows that we are good, beautiful, and pure. And...what He thinks of us is all that should matter!

Who is God? Does He care?
Psalm 126 is a testament to God's lovingkindness and assures God's people of His abiding faithfulness...
The 7th Psalm of our "Songs of Ascent", Psalm 126, is a call for hope and patience. It leads us to great truths which support us in life and comfort us in death...it means that life with God ends in triumph! We are not born for tragedy, but for the ultimate good that God is up to in us, around us, and through us. Believe in the happy ending!

In what or whom do we put our trust? Our hope? Our confidence?
Psalm 125 conveys deep trust in God's ability (& willingness) to care for the needs of His people...
The 6th Psalm of our "Songs of Ascent", Psalm 125, helps develop confidence and banish insecurity by honestly facing the typical insecurities that hold us back and puts them in their place. We are reminded of the strength and priorities of God...The One from whom our security comes.

What do we do in the midst of trouble, trials, suffering?
In Psalm 124, David digs deeply into the troubles of life & finds the presence of the One True God who is On Our Side...
The 5th Psalm of our "Songs of Ascent", Psalm 124, reminds us that God is on our side. He is our help. Always has been and always will be...He is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. In this Psalm we are reminded of how God has workED in the past to learn & pay attention to see how He STILL WORKS today & forevermore.

Today we have the privilege of hearing Dr. Steve Meyer, orthopedic surgeon and founder of STEMM (Siouxland Tanzania Education Medical Missions), share the story of the miracle kids of Tanzania...an amazing story of God's providence, mercy, grace, love, and what can happen when God's people listen to His call to come together to support and care for "the least of these..."
